Who We Are
Mashinani Farmers Initiative is an agricultural consulting firm to be based in Eldoret, Kenya which focuses on food production and offers value-added services as well as transportation of crop products produced by our rural smallholder farmers.
What We Do
Mashinani Farmers Initiative is in the business of changing and shaping lives. We aim to achieve this by seeking to revolutionize how farming is done in Sub Saharan Africa.
Our goal is to make small scale farming a profitable yet sustainable means of livelihood for millions of farmers. We achieve this by valuing rural smallholder farmers as an important asset to their economy and empower them by creating partnership platforms from which we can undertake joint farming initiatives in the production of high value and high demand farm products.
Through our joint farming initiatives, we aim to improve revenue generation and increase farmers' income by diversifying what crops each farmer can grow.
How We Do It
We register farmers on our partnership platforms to become our farm partner, each of our farm partner will receive adequate consultation on what farm products is best suited on their land from our farming initiatives to maximize on output and revenue generation.
After deciding on which joint farming initiative to undertake, as Mashinani we will provide the farm partner with the necessary resources and inputs for their land. In addition, we connect each farm partner to our own trained youth farmers who will be providing farming support and checking on the farms.
During the harvest period, we work with the farm partners to get the farm outputs and transport them to our regional processing and packaging centers where we can supply them to our existing markets. Each farmer is guaranteed an agreed upon legally binding fee for their land usage as well as commission from sale of farm products from their farms.
"Today we are faced with a challenge that calls for a shift in our thinking so that humanity stops threatening its life-support system. We are called to assist the earth to heal her wounds and, in the process, heal our own."
